4,4',4''-Triphenylmethane triisocyanate (commercially managed as Curing Agent RE / Desmodur RE solution) is a highly efficient, trifunctional aromatic polyisocyanate crosslinker. It is primarily utilized as a universal curing agent and crosslinking tackifier for adhesives based on hydroxyl polyurethane, natural rubber, and synthetic rubbers (such as neoprene). It is exceptionally well-suited for high-performance rubber-to-metal and rubber-to-fabric bonding under heat vulcanization, as well as in the footwear assembly industry. The addition of this triisocyanate significantly enhances the heat resistance, peel/shear strength, solvent resistance, and mechanical durability of the adhesive layer. It also finds valuable applications in specialty resin modifications, industrial coatings, and polyurethane elastomers.
